Leslie Bernard Stone, Sr., owner of Infinity Training Center was born to Leslie “Juke” and Rose Mary Stone, III, on January 7, 1975. 

 

Bernard, Sr., grew up on Dauphin Island Parkway; however, he enjoyed many summers in Africantown while visiting his grandparents, other relatives and his dad’s welding shop “Independent Welding. 

 

He received his early education at Maryvale Elementary, Palmer Pillans Middle School and John L. LeFlore High School. Upon graduating from high school, he enrolled at Alabama State University and Bishop State Community College. Upon entering college, he knew in his heart that entrepreneurship was his passion as for years he watched his father, a first-class welder, execute the trade by providing custom burglar bars, barbecue grills and iron ornamental work throughout the Gulf Coast. He also witnessed the lives that his dad changed through mentoring and teaching welding skills to many young men throughout the Africatown community. Bernard’s dad was not only a 1st class welder, but also enjoyed a life career in industry having worked at Alcoa, and Arkema Chemical combined for nearly 45 years. Bernard’s grandfather was also an industry worker who charted the course for his son at Alcoa Aluminum.  Further, Bernard Sr. is a former employee in the industry having worked for Kimberly Clark. 

 

Upon the heart wrenching passing of his dad in July 2020, and his son Leslie Bernard Stone, Jr. “Nard” in December 2020, Bernard Sr. was inspired by his son to keep his dad’s memory alive through the art of teaching the skill of welding and electrical; and coaching and mentoring young people within the Africatown community and beyond. Nard, aspired to be an Engineer, and often times assisted his granddad with his welding craft. 

 

Bernard Sr., is blessed with an amazing family, wife (Jasmine), and children, Bernard Jr., (deceased), Deavon, Nyla, Logan and Dylan. 

 

Bernard Sr., is vested in his motto to “help people, and change lives” through his non-profit organization Infinity Training Center, Inc.
